Gratitude Template
Every morning write down three things that you're grateful for. They should be things that you're grateful for right now, in this moment. It may take a little time to feel the gratitude. Sit with it and let yourself really feel it.
Add a brief explanation of why you're grateful for these things. Try to find at least two reasons for each of them. If you do this every morning before you even think of picking up your phone to check your messages, you'll be setting yourself up to be tuned into gratitude all day long. |
Here is a simple template that you can make your own:
“If you knew me well, you would know that I am grateful for_____ because ______ and because ______,
which makes me feel _____________________”
This may be difficult, and even painful at first. This habit is like a muscle: it starts weak and slowly builds into something that is just a part of your life. If you make it a part of your morning ritual, I guarantee that in just 5 days you will notice a powerful difference in your morning and may even begin to find yourself writing paragraphs where before you were struggling with a single sentence. It’s a true game changer.
